The Atlantis Center, a TechFarms initiative located in Lynn Haven, Florida, is winning raves as a versatile, well-equipped, premium events venue.
Events already conducted at the Atlantis Center have demonstrated its appropriateness to diverse happenings.
Bay High School and North Bay Haven High School conducted their proms there. Parents, students and school staff were impressed by the facility and appreciated the ample, well-lighted parking on site, said Karrie Bradshaw, the events director at Atlantis and the owner of The Celebration Place.
The proximity of parking to the events, themselves, meant that teachers could conveniently escort students to their cars if they needed to retrieve an item such as a phone charger.
“The parking — not having to ride a shuttle from a parking area to the event site — that was a really big deal,” said Bradshaw. “The reviews were good; we had no issues and everyone had a great time.”
Already, North Bay Haven has expressed interest in holding future events including an athletic competition at Atlantis.
The Bay High event took place in the Coral Room, a space also well-suited to large weddings. North Bay Haven prom-goers occupied half of one of two large open areas in the building.
“For the North Bay Haven event, we placed the DJ in the training bridge located above the dance floor, which worked out well for him because it separated him from the kids,” Bradshaw noted.
In mid-April, Merrick Industries held training sessions at Atlantis.
“They gave us good feedback and plan to use us again for training activities and their Christmas party,” Bradshaw said.
The Central Panhandle Association of REALTORS (CPAR) will be holding an education summit at Atlantis in September. The substantial event involving 150 people will make use of the training bridge, a large open area and the Coral Room.
The reed quintet of the U.S. Air Force Band of the West performed a concert at Atlantis and gobbler-enthusiast members of a local chapter of Turkeys for Tomorrow chose Atlantis as the site for a fundraiser.
“All of the groups that we have welcomed here have commented on the grounds and how beautifully maintained they are,” Bradshaw said.
Florida State University Panama City held a VIP luncheon and commencement exercises at Atlantis on May 3. A capacity crowd witnessed graduates receive diplomas, making for an important precedent in the life of the building.
Bradshaw is satisfied that word about the facility is getting out. She reports that a number of people looking for an event site have popped in at her office at Atlantis recently.
She is forging a relationship with the City of Lynn Haven in the interest of hosting community events.
